Dropped to this class two event, fresh after finishing with a perfectly respectable third to Sire De Grugy at Sandown, on his favoured soft ground, stepped up to a more suitable two and a half miles, and fromm the inform stable of Philip Hobbs, he certainly looks as if he ticks all the boxes ahead of his seasonal return.

Add the excellent record in recent renewals of this contest by ten year olds (I only ever follow or even mention stats when they are deemed to be in my favour!), and you can see why he looks like a stand out bet in the 3.05pm at Aintree for me this afternoon, with the added benefit of Channel 4 racing coverage to cheer on the chestnut gelding as he hopefully passes the post in front.
