The 2013 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is set to be another cracker and looks as strong, if not stronger in depth than last year’s field and we have got an each-way betting tip.

The betting market is usually highly frantic leading up to Europe’s finest race and we take a look at some of the key contenders that will line up next weekend.

There are plenty of Group One winners in this year’s renewal and just a year after his heartbreaking defeat in this race, Orfevre returns for another crack and is sure to be in tip top shape as connections will want to go one better. He should line up favourite and willingly could take the massive crown back to Japan. He looked fantastic when winning his trial, but that looked a weak race, and for a horse of his class to shine in that race doesn’t tell us an awful lot. He will be bang there come Sunday.

Japan will also be represented by the smart, Kizuna (8/1 Betfred), who beat Derby winner Ruler of the World. He travelled oh so strongly in his trial and at a big price could be cracking each way selection and one that very much is very much at the top of the shortlist for our each way betting tip.

Treve, is also very highly regarded, and is sure to be well supported come the scheduled off time. The Prix de Diane and Prix Vermeille winner will be the mount of Frankie Dettori. She has been working very well at home and the trip is said to be right up her street so she could be involved.

The winner of the King George, Novellist has been a massive improver over these middle distances and again is sure to be a massive player in this fiercely competitive race. He is a tried and tested performer on most types of ground and will sure to raise many a German beer glass if he is to hit the line in front of his rivals.

Top French handler, Andre Fabre has plenty of runners entered in the race this year. A couple worth mentioning are Flintshire and Intello. The former will rely on the ground being good, and if his wish his granted could be an each way player and the market is sure to speak in his favour. Intello, however, has been talked up by his trainer as the best chance he will have of winning his eighth Arc. Aslong as the ground holds up in Longchamp, and the horse stays the trip, Fabre believes he has the form in the book to trouble the market leaders.

British and Irish followers will sure to be supportive of their native horses that travel to take on the international stars and have four horses that are highly regarded by their respective trainers. Al Kazeem goes for Roger Charlton, The Fugue represents John Gosden, and Ruler of the World and Leading Light represent the formidable Aidan O’Brien team. These horses are big each way prices and it is remarkable to believe this, but that is the strength and depth of the Arc this year.
