Royal Ascot day 1 tips for the Queen Anne Stakes on Tuesday 15^th June at 2.30pm, the opening race of Royal Ascot 2015.

The first Group 1 of the week is the Queen Anne Stakes, with Solow looking the one to beat. The five year old grey French bred gelding is in fantastic form coming here on the back of six straight wins, included in those a Grade 1 on home turf and a win at the Dubai World Cup meeting in Meydan. Half a length being the shortest winning distance, he’s in top form. He Freddie Head is a fantastic trainer and the French challenger must be feared by all opponents.

Able Friend is also coming here on the back of six consecutive wins and looks to be the main challenger to Freddie Heads grey charge. The five year old has yet to race outside of Hong Kong, in fact he has yet to run anywhere apart from Sha Tin, Hong Kong’s main racetrack. This has to be a worry, and he’ll have to really take to the occasion to be a contender here. Nonetheless, should he take it in his stride he must be respected as Hong Kong’s leading miler.

Night of Thunder and TOORMORE represent the home nation, and Richard Hannon. Although their form doesn’t quite read like the two raiders, they can hardly be dismissed for our Royal Ascot day 1 betting tip in the Queen Anne Stakes with Richard Hughes declared to take the ride on the latter, Toormore may well be the value of the race currently at odds of 11-1. As a two year old Toormore looked to have the world at his feet but things haven’t quite gone to plan since. Aidan O’Brien’s runners must always be respected but Cougar Mountain looks to have it all to do here, O’Brien will saddle plenty of big winners throughout the week but doesn’t look to have the firepower to get off the mark in the first Group 1 of the week.
