Real Madrid v Sevilla Betting Tips and Predictions

It’s an all-Spanish affair in this season’s EUFA Super Cup as last season’s Champions League winners, Real Madrid, go head to head against last season’s Europa League winners, Sevilla, in a bid to lift the first major piece of European silverware of the current campaign and we have free football betting tips.

Real Madrid take their place following their 4-1 success over Madrid rivals Athletico in the Champions League Final, whilst Sevilla beat Benfica on penalties in the Europa League Final to book their places at the Cardiff City Stadium for an attempt to win their second Super Cup each.

Sevilla are the most recent winners of the two having lifted the trophy in 2006 while Madrid, perhaps surprisingly, last won the Super Cup back in 2002.

The match will have added interest with Welsh superstar Gallactico, Gareth Bale, returning to his homeland with the club he joined last summer for a ‘World Record’ transfer fee. It will also be the first opportunity to catch a glimpse of Madrid’s new signings, James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos, who arrived at the Bernabeu from Monaco and Bayern Munich respectively.

By contrast, Sevilla have had a rather low key-spending spree this summer with Iago Aspas probably the most notable arrival from Liverpool. The majority of the squad that lifted the Europa League trophy last season have stayed together with only Ivan Rakitic departing for Barcelona so far.

This is a fixture that generally brings plenty of goals and entertainment that one would expect to see from two very attack minded teams. In La Liga last season it ended 8 –5 on aggregate to Real Madrid in the two league fixtures with Real triumphant 7-3 at the Bernabeu and Sevilla 2-1 winners in the return match.

With a potential front four of Bale, Rodriguez, Ronaldo and Benzema, there is no reason to predict that this Super Cup game will produce anything other than plenty of goals.

On this basis, the shrewd money should be on the goals market and the 19/40 on offer with Bet365 for goals over 2.5 looks a safe investment. For those expecting a true goal fest will be interested in the 5/4 on offer with Coral for goals over 3.5.

With Real Madrid generally trading at around 4/9 or 2/5, the Handicap odds look more inviting and I would look to invest in the 1/1 with William Hill on Real Madrid (-1). There will be plenty of supply to Karim Benzema up front for Real and the 5/1 with Bet365 looks well worth a wager to score the first goal in the 2014 Super Cup.
