Horse racing betting tips for the best bets on Wednesday Day 2 of Royal Ascot.

The second day of the Royal meeting features a number of Group contests with the Group 1 Prince of Wales’s Stakes taking centre stage.  Likely to be another competitive day’s racing we have produced the best bets for day 2.

3.45pm Prince of Wales’s Stakes

For many racing enthusiasts, this contest represents the highlight of the entire five day meeting as the world’s highest rated horse TREVE (8/11 William Hill) is set to make her British debut.

This 4 year-old daughter of Motivator destroyed the Prix De L’Arc field last season winning in emphatic fashion.  There was no shame in loosing out to Cirrus Des Aigles on her seasonal reappearance (winner followed up with a Group 1 win in the Coronation Stakes) and she clearly has the best form in the book.  Comfortable on various types of ground, conditions should be ideal and, in a below par renewal, she should comfortably account for her rivals.

In terms of dangers, The Fugue has to be respected for her efforts when winning two Group 1s in succession late last season and her efforts when just failing to get the better of Magician in the Breeders’ Cup Turf.  She could be the each-way play in the race but will have to find plenty to beat the selection.

4.25pm Duke of Cambridge Stakes

Clearly no surprises with the first pick but we now move on to the far more competitive Group 2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes which has attracted a field of 14 runners and looks to be filled with high class opposition.

Sir Micheal Stoute has a fantastic record in the race and will be hoping that INTEGRAL (3/1 Betfred) can claim this year’s renewal.  A progressive individual, this filly improved throughout her four year-old season, which culminated in a one length loss to Sky Lantern who re-opposes today 5lbs worse off.  Integral began this season in good style by finishing runner-up to Esterique by only a head with the winner having had the benefit of two previous runs.

With race fitness assured, on ground that should hold no fears, this filly looks to have had the ideal preparation coming into a race which Stoute has clearly ear-marked for her a long time ago.  Dangers exist throughout the field but I feel that she represents a solid option and the one who could still have plenty left to show the racing public.

4.25pm – INTEGRAL (WIN)(NAP) (3/1 Betfred)
