Coventry Stakes betting tips and predictions for day 1 of Royal Ascot 2015, the Coventry Stakes is due off at 3.05pm.

The juvenile highlight of the first day at Royal Ascot is the Coventry Stakes. A Group 2 contest run over six furlongs, it's a good test at this stage of the season and we have two horse racing tips.

Aiden O'Brien has won seven of the last eighteen renewals so anything representing Ballydoyle must be afforded maximum respect. His sole raider is Air Force Blue, a winner at the Curragh three weeks ago. He showed a nice turn of foot to put the race to bed and with both second and third having won since the form looks solid.

Buratino was visually very impressive on Derby Day in the Woodcote when last seen, turning that Listed contest into a procession. He is more exposed that his rivals but on the flip side, that experience may stand him in good stead.

Wesley Ward has sent successful raiding parties on Royal Ascot in the past so any juvenile sent from the States needs a second look. FINNEGAN won on turf at Pimlico last time by five lengths in an excellent time. A tongue strap is fitted for the extra furlong and he is well worth considering for our Coventry Stakes betting tips at Royal Ascot 2015.

Round Two has won both his starts in nice fashion over five and six furlongs with cut in the ground. Conditions are likely to be the quickest he has encountered which is a slight question mark while the proximity of the third last time is also a slight cause for concern as to the strength of the form.

WAR DEPARTMENT was really impressive on his Leicester debut a few weeks ago. It probably wasn't the strongest of races but he did it easily. Most juveniles from the Willie Haggas yard improve considerably for their debut so a bold showing would not surprise.

It looks a wide open renewal with a decent case to be made for at least five of the runners. There are slight question marks about the favourite so an each way chance is taken on Finnegan and War Department.
