The 49ers land in London having achieved something they didn't manage in the whole of last year’s Super Bowl run; reeled off a three game winning streak after a comfortable win over the Tennessee Titans in week 7. For the Jaguars, they remain winless and have been hopelessly overmatched in every game they have played this season and we have to take that into account for our NFL betting tips.

The 49ers hold a considerable edge on both sides of the ball against this hapless Jaguars team, and come into week 8 with the 3rd best running offence anchored by the consistently brilliant Frank Gore, the franchise leader in rushing yards. It is the versatility of the 49ers offence which allows Gore and the other tail backs such room to run, not to mention the truly elite offensive line led by Joe Staley and Alex Boone. Gore comes into the game averaging 4.3 yards per carry and should have a career day against a defence in the Jaguars that ranks last in the league in run defence. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick adds multi-dimensional looks to the offence with his rocket arm and ability to get out into the open field out of the red option picking up 5.7 yards per scramble this season. The 49ers have the run game and the weapons in the passing game to make this a very comfortable win heading into their Bye week.

For the Jaguars, there is very little to get excited about outside of the hopes of a franchise changing player in next Aprils draft with the potential to pick either Defensive end Jadaveon Clowney out of South Carolina or Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater which could help redefine a franchise that has been ailing ever since Tom Coughlin departed over a decade ago. Jacksonville can find solace in the fact that the 49ers are missing a number of players, most notably Michael Crabtree and Aldon Smith who are both out for the foreseeable future. In order to pull out an Improbable victory, the Jaguars will need to discover the run game which has eluded them this year picking up a putrid 63 yards per game which ranks last in the NFL, whilst also utilising the ability of second year wide receiver Justin Blackmon as a vertical threat against San Francisco cornerbacks that have been caught out at times this season. Quarterback has been a revolving door this season due the injuries picked up by usual first string man Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert is likely to miss this weekends matchup, which means veteran Chad Henne will continue to deputise.

This game offers very little value in terms of bets as it will be such a one sided affair between two teams at the opposite ends of the standings.

The best value in my opinion is to be found in points totals. As with last year’s one sided matchup between the Patriots and the Rams which ended in a 45-7 rout, I expect this game to end in a similar result. The best price I found was on Bet365 with the odds of 6/5 in favour of a points total exceeding 43.5 overall.

I recommend betting on the 49ers to win by over 3 touchdowns (-21.5) at 6/4 on Bet365 as I predict an easy victory with a considerable margin of victory.
