2.30pm Sandown

Starting with the Dragon Stakes, although Richard Hannon’s two year-olds always warrant respect, for me the two horses to beat are Mukhmal and SNAP SHOTS (10/3 bet365). The former won two decent condition races before finishing behind the latter named in the Norfolk Stakes. That race normally produces good quality winners and that looks to be the case with Snap Shots finishing behind the likes of Baitha Alga and Mind Of Madness. He has the beating of Mukhmal on his that piece of form and, although he only came fourth at Ascot, he should get our Lucky 15 betting tip off to the perfect start.

3.35pm Sandown

The highlight of the card is the Gala Stakes over 1m2f. This race looks to be between the two Godolphin representatives and Educate, with the others someway behind on ratings. Educate ran a huge race in the Cambridgeshire but understandably struggled when sent to Meydan to contest Group races. Tha’ir is very classy on his day and won last time out in Dubai however, similarly to Educate, he’s likely to need time to recover from his trip abroad and will probably need this race. That leaves us with WINDHOEK (9/4 Betfred), who has improved this season under Saeed Bin Suroor. His runs in the Winter Derby and Diomed Stakes should give him a cracking chance of claiming this prize.

4.10pm Sandown

Next up, a handicap over 1m2f which looks to revolve around three or four potential Group horses. Chain Of Events has been in cracking form with his latest win coming over the course and distance. He obviously has strong claims as he beat the likes of Vital Evidence that day, however he could fall prey to one who looks particularly well handicapped in this race. AIR PILOT (5/2 Coral) was subject to a big gamble on Derby day and he was only foiled by the Group class performer – Farraaj. The form of that race is of a very high standard and I have a feeling there is a lot more to come from this horse.

4.45pm Sandown

The last selection of our Lucky 15 betting tip is a long distance handicap with plenty of potential winners. Hi Note has some good jumping form, was a good third over C&D last time out and could be in with a shout. If Belfilio returns to the form he showed at Lingfield on the Polytrack he’d be fancied but it is tough to see that happening. Ex Oriente is certainly a danger after his win at Yarmouth last time out and he may be progressive enough to double up off a low mark. ECONOMY (2/1 SkyBet) looks to have the profile to win this sort of race, there will be plenty more to come from this improving type whose form on the polytrack is more than good enough to take this contest if adapting to the turf.
