2.05 Newmarket

Seems like a good idea to start with the first race and, as Luca Cumani is rather hopeful that BARTHOLOMEW FAIR (9/1 bet365) is Classic material for 2015, he ought to be good enough to take this Group 3 contest.  An easy winner at Yarmouth last time out, he steps up a class or two here and has some useful opponents against him but should be good enough.

2.40 Newmarket

A double for the same trainer is admittedly asking a lot but Cumani has gradually improved BLUE WALTZ (5/1 bet365) who was backward and failed to even visit the track as a juvenile.  Two second place results in maidens meant little, but when stepped-up in trip to this mile and a quarter at Newbury she was able to get off the mark.  A further runaway victory at Doncaster over half a furlong further has seen her rise 11lbs, but she keeps on improving and all things are possible while the yard is in decent form.

2.55 York

Although PARK GLEN (10/1 Coral) is a big price its likely she would be a far shorter price if she were trained by one of the bigger and better known yards.  With two consecutive wins at Newcastle and Ffos Las on ground similar to today, she certainly is no forlorn home.  With conditions to suit and her fillies allowance she could well run in to a place and surprise a few today.

3.50 Newmarket

A real each-way option in this huge field handicap looks to be DIGEANTA (25/1 Ladbrokes).  On the form book alone it seems likely that favourite Quick Jack may prove tricky to beat but if Willie Mullins sends over this seven-year-old then he must be respected.  A double figure price looks attractive and it wouldn’t surprise me if this horse has been trained for this contest.
