Saturday Afternoon Accumulator Tips

Last weekend’s Premier League and Football League fixtures provided a good deal of excitement and It seems we’re heading for another exciting season. Our tipster has five tips for your acca  this weekend.

Swansea vs Newcastle: Swansea win @ 19/20

Both these teams were involved in entertaining two all draws on the opening weekend and that was also the score at the Liberty Stadium last season. Swansea are always tough to beat at home and Garry Monk will have taken plenty of confidence from their performance at Chelsea. Newcastle have been pretty rubbish away from home for a long time and I don’t see that improving this weekend, they still look leaky at the back even if there were some encouraging signs against Southampton. I think this will be an entertaining game but one that Swansea should end up winning.

Tottenham vs Stoke: Tottenham win @ 3/4

Spurs might feel a bit hard done by following their defeat against United on the opening day, they played some nice stuff at times and the goal they conceded was pretty unlucky. Lloris could be available for selection which would be a big boost for Spurs. Stoke have added some good attacking signings, but they didn’t offer too much against Liverpool, Stoke too might feel hard done by that defeat. Stoke are always tough to beat but I fancy Spurs to bounce back with and pick up the win.

MK Dons vs Preston: Draw @ 23/10

Both these sides are enjoying life in the Championship following promotion from League 1 last season. MK Dons are actually top of the league following their 4-1 win away at Rotherham last weekend and that will have given them a massive confidence boost. Preston managed a draw with promotion favourites Middlesbrough last weekend which is a really good result. These two will be familiar with one another having played each other for the last few seasons, of their last six encounters, five have been draws, I think these two are evenly matched and will share the points to continue their good starts.

Ipswich vs Sheffield Wednesday:  Ipswich win @ 11/10

Ipswich got a 2-2 draw at Brentford last weekend and Mick McCarthy’s team look well placed to challenge for promotion, whilst Sheffield Wednesday earned a 2-0 win over Bristol City. I expect this to be a close game but one in which home advantage will play its part and so I think Ipswich should take all three points.

Nottingham Forest vs Rotherham: Forest win @ 4/5

Rotherham were pretty shambolic against MK Dons on the opening day, they only just survived last season and it looks like they’ll be in a battle for survival again. Forest lost away at Brighton in their opening fixture and will be keen to get some points on the board, this is the perfect opportunity to do just that against a Rotherham side low on confidence. I think Forest will win and should do so comfortably.
