1.50 Haydock

It's somewhat of a surprise to see PATIENCE ALEXANDER (2/1 bet365) in a nursery rather than pattern company with the step down to the minimum trip no concern.  Main danger looks to be Fuwairt but his best form has come over six furlongs.

2.05 Ascot

Semeen is likely to be well supported having had an excellent campaign last year.  A chance however, is taken on BANTAM (12/1 Betfred) who was a shade unlucky on her return.  She still looks on a workable mark and is open to more improvement than most of these.

2.20 Haydock

The step back down in trip should suit ELHAAME (8/1 Ladbrokes) with this handicap mark looking acceptable.  Lahaag and Energia Davos are others looking handily weighted while Salutation deserves to get his head back in front after finishing placed on a couple of occasions.

2.40 Ascot

Magic City has been running consistently well of late but is steadily climbing the weights again without winning.  Dark Emerald is another who has been in excellent form although this might be a step too far.  HIT THE JACKPOT (8/1 Coral) might just get the rain he needs to be seen to good effect and is chosen in the hope this turns into a good test.

2.55 Haydock

Hillstar is the form pick in this field, thanks to his latest effort against Cavalryman, but he may have to give best to VANCOUVERITE (5/1 Ladbrokes) who was given too much to do at Newbury last time but looks ready to hit peak form.

3.15 Ascot

Wrangler has looked very progressive this season turning a Salisbury maiden into a procession before winning his handicap debut at Haydock.  ASTRONEREUS (8/1 Betfred) looks a strong challenger and a spot of value at the prices.  He probably found the ground too quick at Goodwood last week but this will suit better and he can resume his progression.

3.35 Newmarket

Arabian Queen sets the standard on her Group 2 win here last month but she had the run of the race that day and a penalty makes things harder.  It was hard not to be impressed by the debut of EFFLORESCENCE (8/1 bet365) over C&D three weeks ago.  She pulled too hard but still won comfortably and there looks to be plenty more to come from this filly.

3.50 Ascot

A competitive sprint to finish with two in form types in TELMEYD (7/2 Coral) and Highland Acclaim with preference for the former.  William Haggas looks to have a rapid improver on his hands and this colt looks well up to the task.  Highland Acclaim won comfortably last weekend, quickening well despite pulling hard and looks the most likely to chase the selection home.
