Nurnberg to beat Werder Bremen 17/20:
A relegation battle this weekend in the Bundersliga as Nuremberg take on Weder Bremen at the Grundig Stadium for the late kick off. Both teams hover over the drop zone with Nurnberg in 14th position with four points ahead of Hamburg and Weder Bremen sit above Nurnberg in 13th position. Nurnberg will be hoping to get back to winning ways after being defeated on their travels against Dortmund last time out, before the match up against one of the Bundersliga giants, Nurnberg scraped nine points together winning three out of four games. Bremen will travel with confidence, firstly they hold a firmer grip on survival and secondly they are unbeaten in three games, earning five points. However, the green shirts of Bremen haven’t travelled well from late 2013 failing to record a victory from these five games. Their last journey away from home was against Frankfurt, but a goalless draw became their reward on the road back to Bremen. Nurnberg will be looking to take advantage of the poor away form that Bremen hold.
Guingamp to beat Evian 10/11:
The Stade du Roudourou welcomes Evian to face Guingamp on Saturday with the home side holding intentions of boosting further up the league. Guingamp sit in 13th position and could retrieve extra two places if results go their way, which means relegation plans, could be completely scrapped. Guingamp have won three of their last five, including two victories from their last two games gaining precious three points against Nice and Rennes. Evian will be travelling to Guingamp to find precious points too as they loom just above the drop zone with a five point gap over Valenciennes. The small team from Annecy don’t travel well and haven’t recorded three points in 2014 when they journey around France. However, Evian may travel with a glimmer of hope as the pink shirts defeated Nantes 2-0 at home in the last round of Ligue 1. Guingamp will be the focus though and Evian may find them-selves going home empty handed.
Catania to draw with Cagliari 9/4:
The second and final match of the Serie A action this Saturday will arrive in Catania, Sicily where the light blue and red striped shirts of Catania, will be fighting again for points as they search for a method to avoid the drop down to Serie B. Catania are on torrid form sitting in 19th position, two points off bottom and two points off safety. Catania have only managed one win in their last five games and in late February they were defeated by Chievo whom are also fighting to stay alive in Serie A. Cagliari will be their opponents, but they too could be pulled down the league if they fail to find points. Cagliari are currently in 14th position, beating Udinese in the last round and securing a point away to Inter Milan in late February. Catania will sure to put out a strong force and Cagliari have failed to break down opponents when travelling away this season, the navy and red shirts haven’t won away in 2014 so far. A draw looks likely in this match as both teams will be putting out defensive traps to avoid defeats and the threat of Serie B.
