2.25 Newmarket

It looks a tough day of racing and our first bet comes in a Listed race over 1m4f.  A tentative vote goes for ASTONISHING (5/1 William Hill) who, despite being out of form of late, should appreciate the return to 1m 4f.  She has a win to her name at Newmarket (albeit on the Rowley Mile course) and the ground should suit.  Plenty could cause problems with the Ribblesdale third Criteria, Chester Oaks winner Anipa, and the improving Speckled, all looking dangerous opponents.

2.40 Newbury

The next leg of the Lucky 15 tip comes in the Doom Bar Stakes over 1m2f at Newbury, a race which revolves around the return of AL KAZEEM (9/4 Betfred).  After failing at stud, he makes his racecourse reappearence here and, if anywhere near as good as he was in his pomp, then he should win this comfortably.  Listed winner Nabucco, 2013 Derby fourth Battle Of Marengo, Group 2 winner Vancouverite and the French raider Triple Threat rate the main dangers.  

3.15 Newbury

The only group race on the Newbury card is the Group 3 Hackwood over 6 furlongs which looks an intriguing puzzle.  MUSIC MASTER (4/1 Ladbrokes) is the pick after producing a career best effort to finish fourth in the Diamond Jubilee.  He seems to prefer the firmer ground and could potentially have more improvement in him.  That Is The Spirit and Naadirr are two improving 3yo’s to watch out for whilst Rocky Ground and Rivellino also have solid claims.

3.50 Newbury

The Weatherbys Super Sprint over 5f for 2yo’s is another tricky race.  TIGGY WIGGY (9/2 bet365) seems to be the horse Richard Hughes has come to Newbury to ride and her form is far superior to many of the field’s.  She has only been beaten by two horses in her career and both are high class Group horses.  Realtra is well fancied and other dangers include Pillar Box, Fast Act and Haxby.
