Saturday’s Horse Racing Lucky 15 Betting Tip

Lucky 15 betting tip for the racing from Ascot, Newmarket and York on Saturday.

Plenty of high class racing from Newmarket, Ascot and York this Saturday with the Group 1 July Cup the highlight. Here are four of the best bets across the day for a Lucky 15 bet.

2.30 Ascot

We start with the Summer Mile Stakes at Ascot which is a Group 2 over 1m. Long John looks a danger after an impressive showing at Meydan first time up while Graphic, Guest Of Honour and Mull Of Killough all have solid form but TULLIUS (7/2 William Hill) is the pick. The Andrew Balding charge will have to give weight away but he’ll relish condition and has shown the best form of this field in his last two runs in Group 1 company.

2.40 Newmarket

Moving on to Newmarket and the 7f Superlative Stakes, there are plenty of decent types in here but none with real top class form. Cock Of The North probably has the best form on paper after finishing second in a Listed race but he may be vulnerable to improving types, such as GLENEAGLES (2/1 bet365). This Galileo colt should have no issues with the softish ground on breeding and improved markedly last time out. Other potential improvers to watch out for are Aktabantay and Estidhkaar.

3.30 York

Our third Lucky 15 selection comes in the City Wall Stakes over 5f at York. KINGSGATE NATIVE (7/2 bet365) takes a big drop in class here and has been running recently in some of the biggest sprints in the calendar. He remains a Group horse here against handicappers and should be a class apart. G Force is an improving 3yo and rates the biggest danger.

3.50 Newmarket

The last bet comes in the Group 1 July Cup. This looks a good quality field which includes the 2,000 Guineas sixth Noozhoh Canarias, Golden Jubilee winner and runner-up Slade Power & Due Dilligence and American import Undrafted. There is clearly a lot of strength in depth but I think HOT STREAK (5/2 SkyBet) has managed to fly under the radar here. This 3yo colt will relish the soft conditions and has already placed twice in Group company over on the Rowley Mile. If, he proves his stamina (as I believe he will) and gets the opportunity to pull away from the field in testing conditions, he could be difficult to peg back.
