Spurs v Man City betting tips:

After a shock defeat at home to West Ham, Man City immediately got their season back on track by brushing aside Sunderland in the League Cup with a resounding 4-1 victory that saw Aguero, Sterling and new signing Kevin De Bruyne all find the net. Spurs meanwhile beat Crystal Palace in the league only to lose to arch-rivals Arsenal through the most surprising of circumstances a Mattieu Flamini brace.

Heading into this game both teams welcome back key creative players. After pulling up injured in the warm up against West Ham, David Silva looks set to come back into the starting line up here. Perhaps even more crucially after a longer spell out with injury Spurs look set to welcome back Christian Eriksen. The Dane has been brought off the bench in the last two games but looks set to start from the first whistle this week. Eriksen's presence will bring some much needed creativity to a Spurs midfield that desperately needs it and it might also allow Harry Kane to break his duck in the Premier League.

The short match odds are truly a testament to the strength of this Man City side. The Citizens may have been denied by West Ham last week but as the midweek demolition of Sunderland showed that Man City's momentum is undimmed by a single defeat. Even away from home at short odds, Man City are worth backing here against a Tottenham. Spurs haven't been particularly impressive so far this season and even at home they won't be able to get a result against Pelligrini's men.

Obviously, I'm already tipping Manchester City for a win but I don't think this is going to be a walkover for the Manchester team. This should be enough to get Tottenham through the first 45 minutes drawing.
