Lucky 15 tips from Goodwood, The Curragh and Ffos Las on Sunday 12th October.
The best of the racing action on Sunday comes from three tracks, with selections at Goodwood, Ffos Las and The Curragh making-up our Lucky 15 tip.
Plenty of exposed types in this nursery so it will probably pay to look to the lighter raced types. Desert Force tops the weights having got off the mark at Newbury last time. There was cut in the ground that day which will stand him in good stead but he is drawn wide here. The step-up to this trip suited FINIAL (5/1 William Hill) last time at Chepstow. The ground shouldn't be a problem on breeding while the experience of Chepstow's undulations should help at this venue. The runner-up in that Chepstow contest has won since and this horse can get us off to a good start to the day.
Hot on the heels of the opener comes VIZTORIA (5/2 bet365) in a Listed race that appears to be lacking in depth. She was bitterly disappointing last time at Deauville in the Maurice De Geest but sent off at just 11/2 in that Group 1 shows her talent and this is far easier than her most recent tasks. Flight Risk is the least exposed runner and the three-year-old may well prove the main danger. His latest effort behind Caspian Prince is more than respectable with the step back up to six furlongs in his favour.
Duke Of Firenze is starting to look dangerously well handicapped these days, running a solid race off 1lb higher at Ascot last time. Ladweb has had an excellent 2014, with the potential for further improvement. HUMIDOR (9/2 William Hill) gets the vote however with conditions in his favour. These quirky, switchback tracks are very much to his liking with cut in the ground suiting as well. He still looks nicely weighted and, although he isn't the easiest to win with, he looks a cut above these.
3.55 Ffos Las
Over to Wales for the final leg of our Lucky 15 tip and the selection is DOING FINE (9/2 bet365). Just a bumper and two hurdle starts in this country before being sent chasing, he looks the type to make up into a decent staying handicapper. He scored in his sole Irish point-to-point and is open to plenty of improvement off what looks a very feasible starting mark. Carole's Destrier looks the main danger however his two weakest efforts have come over 3m so he has a little to prove in terms of his stamina.
3.05 – FINIAL (5/1 William Hill)
3.10 – VIZTORIA (NAP) (5/2 bet365)
