Sunderland v Cardiff City Betting Tips and Predictions

Sunderland find themselves 20^th, three points from safety while Cardiff are 18^th two points from safety so three points would be massive for either side in their bid for survival. The issue arising here though is Sunderland’s poor home form and Cardiff’s poor away form.

The Black Cats have had a season to forget until the last week or so with most people writing them off with games away to Man City and Chelsea to come. Four points from those two fixtures later and there seems to be life on Wearside. The draw away to Man City was massive but the win away to Chelsea seems like a miracle. As I said though, home form has been a huge issue, Sunderland are without a win in four on Wearside and have won just one of their previous ten matches at the Stadium of Light. This would be the ideal time to find a bit of form at home but their performances all season have been better against the sides further up the league.

Cardiff have also picked up a couple of decent results of late beating Southampton and drawing with West Brom to give them a chance of staying up if Norwich, West Brom or Fulham slip up. Their recent form doesn’t read too badly after them results with them losing three, winning two and drawing two of their last seven matches. As I mentioned though, despite those good results away to Southampton and West Brom their away form has been poor all season, winning just twice away all season.
