Supreme Novices’ Hurdle betting tips and predictions for the opening race of the 2017 Cheltenham Festival where Melon is set to go off the favourite.
The Supreme Novices’ Hurdle is the traditional Cheltenham Festival curtain raiser on day 1 and we’ve taken an early look at the runners and picked out our opening Cheltenham day 1 tip for the 2017 Festival.
Supreme Novices Hurdle Betting Tips 2017
There was a huge gamble on Melon a few of weeks ago, but is he the winner of the Supreme? This plunge came after a 10 length win on his first start for Willie Mullins and he’s now 11/4 with William Hill to win the Supreme Novices Hurdle following the declerations and Ruby Walsh being on board. Those odds look short and it is a typical short odds Mullins horse at the top of the betting odds.
A lot of horses have pulled out of this race and will be going elsewhere such as Moon Racer, Charli Parcs and Airlie Beach. Combine that with the loss of the likes of Min and we’re lookin at a competitive betting heat in the Supreme Novices Hurdle this year.
Melon has been continually backed despite being inexperienced and Ballyandy will have it’s supporters after winning at the Cheltenham Festival last year. Crack Mome is another Willie Mullins trained horse of interest but Ruby Walsh has chosen Melon and that is a tip in itself.
