Thursday Night Accumulator Tips

Same old story last night! A lack of goals at Hibs saw us come away with 4 out of 5 for the second night in a row. There's plenty of action to get stuck into tonight in the Europa League, let's hope the much-maligned competition can pay dividends for us.

Atletico Bibao v Zilina – Over 2.5 goals

Well, nobody saw the comback from the Slovakian side last week! Being 2-0 down to a Spanish side who has just seen off Barcelona didn't seem to phase them as they turned it around and lead 3-2 on aggregate. Bilbao need at least 2 goals here to ensure qualification, they won't want to have to rely on the away goals rule. Zilina though are full of confidence and are in imperious form domestically, they are also likely to get on the scoresheet at some point and that should push us above the over 2.5 goals mark

Rosenborg v Steau Bucharest – Rosenborg win

We predicted the Norwegians would emerge winners last week, but we weren't expecting it to be quite so emphatic. 3-0 winners in Bucharest and the away side have all the work to do. The home side are still in flying form winning at the weekend. That takes their unbeaten streak to 11 games and they surely will have too much at home. Barring, complete disaster, they are through and can play at a far more relaxed pace, but they are confident and there's a tremendous spirit in the camp.

HJK v Krasnodar – Krasnodar Over 1.5 goals

It was a thumping win over the Finnish side last week, 5-1 was perhaps a little undeserved, but there's no doubt that Krasnodar have goals in them. They're playing well in the Russian Premier League and beat Champions Zenit St Petersburg last week. They don't particularly need to exert themselves here, but they should find it easy enough to put 2 goals past a Finnish side, who have who have only won once since the end of July.

AZ Alkmaar v Astra – AZ Over 1.5 goals

Another match in which a side need the goals to progress. It finished 3-2 to Astra in the first leg, somewhat surprisingly and AZ need a couple of goals to ensure progression into the competition. The Romanians were deadly from set pieces last Thursday and AZ will have to improve their defending, but they've started the new Eredivisie season poorly. They need to turn it around here, but they surely will be able to get 2 goals at home, whether they progress or not.

Vojvodina v Viktoria Plzen – Plzen over 1.5 goals

Vojvodina were outclassed in the Czech Republic last week and need some goals to get back into the tie. I don't think they will manage it, but they will certainly push for it and it will leave gaps at the back. They conceded 3 to Plzen last week, so 2 seems less of an ask and I think Plzen can pick them off. I wouldn't be surprised if the match ends 2-0 to the away side with the Czechs progressing emphatically.
