Royal Ascot 2015 tips Prince of Wales Stakes

As we move into Thursday there is plenty more horse racing today with action in the afternoon from Chepstow, Hamilton & Leicester, while Doncaster and Epsom provide the evening fixtures.

Our resident horse racing betting expert, Andy Newton, is on hand with today’s free horse racing tips this Thursday (16th July) across the cards.

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Chepstow Tips –

5.40 – Chepstow – Trainer Bernard Llewellyn has his horses in decent order at the moment so his PETRIFY (Bet at 4/1 with Paddy Power) is the call here in the final race on the card. The horse was a beaten favourite last time out, but still ran a solid race to come third – not beaten far – and with the talented Michael Murphy booked can go well in this apprentice race.

Hamilton Tips –

2.40 – Hamilton – ALASKAN WING (Bet at 2/1 with Bet365) is riding high at the moment with two recent wins with two wins since July 8th and a 6lb penalty for the last of those might not be enough to stop him going in again. He won with enough in-hand last time for today’s jockey to think he can land the three-timer.

3.45 – Hamitlon– The Mark Johnston yard won this in 2008, 2009 and 12 months ago so their POLARISATION (Bet at 13/8 with Boylesports) is the call here. Yes, the horse flopped last time at Ascot just three days ago, but this looks easier and the step up in trip is a plus. Being a 3 year-old the horse also gets weight all round.

Leicester Tips –

2.50 – Leicester– The William Jarvis team took this race 12 months ago with another horse so the fact they’ve targeted this race again could be significant. Their runner this time is SINEMA (Bet at 5/1 with William Hill), who looks to have a leading chance on these terms in this Seller. The horse was well beaten last time, but this class of opposition will be easier and Tom Queally rides.

3.25 – Leicester– Trainer Rae Guest does well with his fillies and this looks likely to be another with GLENEELY GIRL (Bet at 11/4 with Skybet). On these terms she gets weight all-round and William Buick catches the eye in the saddle. She was a close second last time out at Beverley and off just a pound higher will take the beating.

Epsom Tips –

6.10 – Epsom– The Hannon camp have won this race in 2006 and 2013, so we think can do so again. Yes, they run two, so their other runner, Deluxe, might e worth a small saver too, but their main runner on jockey bookings looks to be JUPITER CUSTOS (Bet at 3/1 with Coral). The horse was well down the field last time in a handicap, but the drop in grade and trip means this will be a lot easier.

7.50 – Epsom – Last year’s winner Compton Bird is interesting, but on these terms might just have it to do against Roger Charlton’s MARMOT (Bet at 11/8 with William Hill). The pick has won at Brighton – a similar track – so the signs are good for him handling Epsom, while his last run defeat can be forgiven as he didn’t seem to stay over the longer trip – back in distance he’s respected.

8.20 – Epsom – Some old favourites here and some course specialists, but we’ll stick with last year’s winner of this race – DR RED EYE (e/w) (Bet at 8/1 with Betfred). The horse was fifth here a week ago over 6f, but stays this far. His last career win came here at the track over CD and so we can expect another bold bid from the front – hopefully he’ll hold on this time, or at least hold on to a place!

Doncaster –

8.40 –Doncaster – RED WARRIOR (Bet at 9/2 with Paddy Power) was only beaten one length last time out at Windsor so off just a 2 pound higher mark can go well. The Ismail Mohammed yard go well at the course and with conditions to suit everything points to a big run – Nonchalant is the next bet.
