2.30 Goodwood

It is hard to know what to make of RAPPROCHEMENT (8/1 SkyBet), a once raced three-year-old who hacked up in a minor maiden at Newmarket. He must be showing something at home to warrant throwing him in at the deep end here and Godolphin were back in amongst the winners yesterday so all things are possible.

3.05 Goodwood

Although the best horses seem to be drawn low, I am convinced we are yet to see the best of OUR CHANNEL (16/1 Betfred) a horse trained by the excellent William Haggas who is farming some of the big handicaps of late. Runner-up last time out at Arlington in the American Derby, he is clearly better than average and maybe even Group class in which case a rating of 101 in a handicap could make him thrown in today.

4.50 Goodwood

The Mark Johnston yard have continued their tradition of firing during the summer months and they are rarely found wanting for either fitness or guts. They are represented here by MUTEELA (5/2 Ladbrokes), an unbeaten daughter of Dansili who could be anything in the long term. For the moment though, this Group 3 is her aim and the seven furlong trip looks to be ideal and she ought to take this next step-up in class in her stride.
