Horse racing best bets for the action live on Channel 4 from Newmarket on Saturday.
The best of Saturday's Channel 4 racing comes from Newmarket and we have put together a pair of best bets.
Our first bet comes in the Autumn Stakes, a Group 3 contest for two-year-olds over 1m. This year’s entrants will be looking to emulate last year’s winner Kingston Hill and one who has the potential to be able to do so is FUTURE EMPIRE (11/4 Coral). This New Approach colt was impressive here on debut and was unlucky not to get to Aktabantay at Sandown last time out in the Solario Stakes. The step-up in trip will suit, the booking of Richard Hughes is a positive and I expect this horse to claim this prize before going on to better things as a three-year-old. Order Of St George is likely to be his closest rival after destroying a maiden field last time out.
Back to Newmarket for the best bet of the day and I quite fancy TOP TUG (8/1 Betfred) to go in at a decent price for the leading pairing of Sir Michael Stoute and Ryan Moore. This horse won last time out and looks well weighted off 94 after beating the 104 rated Cloudscape who went on to finish fourth in a Group 3 last time out. He's always been liked by connections and will be suited by any give in the ground. Obviously it looks to be a competitive contest, with all the major trainers represented, nonetheless though, Top Tug should have plenty of scope for improvement after only five career starts and this looks to be another opportunity to land a good prize.
2.05 – FUTURE EMPIRE (WIN) (11/4 Coral)
3.10 – TOP TUG (E/W)(NAP) (8/1 Betfred)
