3.05 Curragh

Ger Lyon’s runner – CAPPELLA SANSEVERO (11/10 Coral) is probably more exposed than is ideal in a juvenile for this time of year but he looks like he will be hard to beat taking a drop in grade. He was placed at the highest level last time, gets a bit of cut in the ground which suits well, and has a nice bit in hand if official ratings are to be believed.

His biggest threat is likely to come in the form of the Ballydoyle runner, War Envoy who finished in front of the selection on much quicker ground back in June. He has since run in blinkers and a tongue strap, both of which are left off here with connections seemingly of the belief that neither aid contributed anything. The fact they used them in the first place would indicate that the selection isn’t the most straightforward and may well fail to run his race.

4.35 Curragh

A big field handicap here with plenty in with chances. Hasanour is an obvious starting point having been successful in his two most recent starts. He seems to have finally clicked and another rise in the weights is unlikely to stop him although any further rain wouldn't be ideal.

There are few more deserving of plundering a nice prize than SRETAW (12/1 Ladbrokes), Gavin Cromwell's mare has finished runner-up in her last six starts. Her form ties in closely with Hasanour on her latest start and she should be at least placed again.

MASKOON (11/1 bet365) finished behind a couple of these at Galway but there are reasons to think he is capable of reversing the form. The softer ground looks in his favour and the race characteristics should suit, unlike his run at Galway where the late finishers were favoured. He was very well backed on that occasion and clearly connections believe he is capable of better than he has shown.
