Tuesday’s Horse Racing Tips

As we head into Tuesday there is plenty more horse racing today, with all flat racing fixtures from Ffos Las and Musselburgh in the afternoon, while Chelmsford and Wetherby provide the evening fixtures.

Our resident horse racing betting expert, Andy Newton, is on hand with today’s free horse racing tips this Tuesday (21st July) across the cards.

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Ffos Las Tips –

2.00 – Ffos Las – A juvenile race here and with Brian Meehan 3 from 4 (75%) with his 2 year-old runners here then his STRATHEARN (Bet at 16/1 with Skybet) might be worth risking e/w. Yes, the horse needs to improve from his debut run when 9th of 12 at Newmarket but we can expect that run to have taught him a lot, while Louis Steward takes off a handy 3lbs too. Brian Meehan’s Jimenez is another to consider.

BET NOW – STRATHEARN (e/w)

4.30 – Ffos Las LUCY THE PAINTER (Bet at 6/1 with Coral) is the call here. This horse is back down to 6f after finding 7f stretching her last time. It doesn’t look the best of races and the Peter Makin yard are always to be feared here with a 35% strike-rate at the venue.

BET NOW – LUCY THE PAINTER (e/w)

Musselburgh Tips –

4.15 – Musselburgh – Four of the 8 runners are previous CD winners and it’s one of these that we are sticking with. ONE BOY (Bet at 8/1 with Betfred) won here back in September 13, and despite having only one once since I think the horse has got better. He’s run well in defeat of late and continues to drop down the ratings. The jockey, Phil Dennis, takes off a further 7lbs, while the Michael Dods team have a decent 27% record with their runners at the track.

BET NOW – ONE BOY (e/w)

4.45 – Musselburgh – Iain Jardine’s LA BACOUETTEUSE (Bet at 10/1 with Skybet) has won this race for the past two years and although he’s been largely out of form he heads here with a 2lb lower mark this time and also has Phil Dennis taking off a handy 7lbs. Track, trip and ground look ideal and connections have clearly had this race as a target for some time.

BET NOW – LA BACOUETTEUSE (e/w)

Chelmsford Tips –

8.15 – Chelmsford – Hughie Morrison has a good record at the track with his runners (4 from 6) so his SARSTED (Bet at 7/2 with William Hill) looks interesting. Richard Hughes is back riding – he won on him back in October last year. The conditions look ideal and with just 4 career runs this lightly-raced sort should have more to come.

BET NOW –SARSTED

8.50 – Chelmsford – With a 54% record at the track it’s easy to see why we like John Gosden’s BAQQA (Bet at 5/1 with Bet365) here. The horse has been fifth on both her starts to date, but seemed to run a lot better last time – wasn’t beaten far. Dane O’Neill takes the ride and on breeding (USA) should also improve for her first run on an AW surface.

BET NOW – BAQQA

Wetherby Tips –

6.30 – Wetherby – ZAANEH (Bet at 6/4 with Skybet) was a beaten favourite last time out, but she’ll have learnt a lot from that run and wasn’t actually beaten far into second that day. With Paul Hanagan riding that’s a plus and reverting to turf should help too. The Haggas team have also been firing in the winner of late and with just over 4 months to get over that last run heads here with a leading chance.

BET NOW – ZAANEH

8.05– Wetherby – David O’Meara’s ZACYNTHUS (Bet at 3 /1 with Coral) was a nice winner last time out and heads here as the only last-time out winner in the field. The horse is up 6lbs for that win and the ground will be slightly quicker here, but he’s the form horse in the race and is taken to land the double.

BET NOW – ZACYNTHUS
