It's been a reasonably positive start to life in the top flight for Watford this season. The Hornets have only been beaten the twice so far this campaign and currently find themselves in twelfth position in the table. However, one cause for concern has to be the lack of goals from a team that notched 91 times in The Championship last year. Watford currently have the joint worst goal record in the Premier League this season, and only one of their matches this year has been against a side that finished in the top seven last campaign.

Nevertheless, the flip side to this coin is that Quique Flores' men have also got the joint best defensive record in the division. Watford have only conceded seven goals so far in total, with only one against them while at Vicarage Road – For those that remember, this was a Johan Cabaye penalty a few weeks ago. All in all, this is a really impressive statistic from a team that plied their trade in The Championship last season.

Opponents Arsenal head into the match in excellent form in the Premier League following four wins from their last five matches. Their last two victories have been particularly impressive where they picked up three points away at high-flying Leicester City, then thrashed Manchester United at The Emirates a fortnight ago.

However, The Gunners have also been appalling in the Champions League during this period, losing both of their games so far to both of the weaker teams in the group. With the first of back to back matches against Bayern Munich due next week, it remains to be seen whether Arsene Wenger will take this into consideration in regards to his team selection on Saturday. The Arsenal manager has already stated that star man Alexis Sanchez is a doubt following a busy week of International football with Chile.

This match is a lot tougher to call that it looks. Both Watford's excellent defensive record and Arsenal's impending tie against Bayern Munich seem set to throw a real banana skin under what would normally be a likely away win.
