Horse racing tipping expert, Andy Newton, gives you his free horse racing tips and best bets this Wednesday (26th Aug) across today’s fixtures.
Today’s Horse Racing Tips
Musselburgh Racing Tips –
2.00 – Musselburgh – STYLISH BOY has been knocking on the door with a second and a couple of thirds from his three runs to date. Yes, there is a danger of something improving past him, but his experience should be a big asset here and the Fahey team have a decent 24% record here.
4.00 – Musselburgh – Hopefully all 9 (or at least 8) will run here with the Philip Kirby-trained QUADRIGA looking interesting. The return to 7f will be a plus after running over a mile last time and the yard have been amongst the winners of late.
Lingfield Racing Tips –
2.20 – Lingfield –. Any support for William Haggas unraced Shufoog should be noted, especially with their horses going well and Paul Hanagan riding. However, the safer option might be to stick with Hugo Palmer’s PERU, who was a good second last time out. The Hugo Palmer team do well here at the track and this horse seems to be going in the right direction.
BET NOW – PERU (Bet here at 13/8 with Bet365)
5.25 – Lingfield– The Lee Carter team took this race 12 months ago and will be hoping to follow-up – this time with MUNSARIM. The horse loves it here at Lingfield and is one of just three past CD winners in the field. He rates a decent e/w option with the double-seeking Omotesando the main danger.
Catterick Racing Tips –
2.40 – Catterick – MUSHARRIF was only beaten a head into third last time out and with the expected improvement and the fact the Sir Michael Stoute team boast an impressive 43% record with their runners here makes this one the obvious call.
BET NOW – MUSHARRIF (Bet here at 2/9 with Bet365)
4.40 –Catterick – Trainer Mark Johnston loves to have winners at Catterick and he looks to have another good chance here – this time with TRIPLE DIP. The horse was an excellent third last time out at Ascot in a better race than this and off just a pound higher comes here with a big chance with leading jockey Silvestre de Sousa a further plus in the saddle. Sir Michael Stoute’s Plane Dip is the danger.
Kempton Racing Tips –
6.55 – Kempton – Yes, Godolphin’s BATTLE SUCCESS is having its first run on the track, but coming from this powerful yard means he should know his job. US bred suggests the AW will suit too and one of their top jockeys – James Doyle – rides.
8.25 – Kempton – A race with many chances but we like the James Fanshawe-trained LANDWADE LAD here. The horse has been running well without winning of late and the yard also do well here at the track. His only try on the AW saw him run second here and over this longer trip is the call to break his duck.
Bath Racing Tips –
4.25 – Bath – Yes, COMEDY NIGHT is looking a bit exposed now with six career runs without a win, but this Robert Cowell-trained 2 year-old has been knocking on the door and this doesn’t look the best of races. The yard also boast an impressive 29% record at the track.
6.05– Bath – THAMES KNIGHT was a good winner last time out here over CD and the Marcus Tregoning team are also going strong at the moment. Yes, a 6lb rise makes life harder but it’s interesting the horse is turned out again so quickly and should be fine on the softer ground. Ed Dunlop’s horse is the danger.
