Saturday's Free Horse Racing Tips and Trends: 2nd April -

Plenty of horse racing today with action in the afternoon from Catterick, Lingfield and Uttoxeter, while Worcester and Sandown provide the evening fixtures.

Our resident horse racing betting expert, Andy Newton, is on hand with his free horse racing tips this Wednesday (15th July) across the cards.

Today’s Horse Racing Tips

Catterick Tips –

2.00 – Catterick – Trainer Richard Fahey has a 28% record with his 2 year-olds at Catterick so his unraced DANCING YEARS (Bet at 7/2 with Bet365) is worth risking here. Tony Hamilton rides this well-bred filly and any market support would further enhance her chance. Another yard that do well here with their juveniles is David Barron – they run Lady Clair, who is also making her debut.

3.30 – Catterick – The Queen has a race runner here at the track for Michael Bell and with that yard boasting a healthy 50% (4 from 8) record with their runners here then we can expect their MOTION PICTURE (Bet at 7/4 with Paddy Power) to be popular in the betting. The yard’s horses are also going well at the moment and jockey Louis Steward takes off a handy 3lbs too.

Lingfield Tips –

3.10 – Lingfield – A nice pot up for grabs here – Richard Fahey’s Third Time Lucky is on a four-timer so is respected, but on these terms MUFFRI’HA (Bet at 11/8 with Skybet) might be hard to beat. William Haggas’ charge was a fine second last time out at Newmarket racecourse in what looked an above-average handicap.

3.40 – Lingfield – The Sheena West team has a 31% record with their runners here at the track on the turf so her HI NOTE (Bet at 25/1 with with Bet365) looks interesting here. The horse wasn’t beaten far last time when third of 7 at Bath, but off the same mark and with Daniel Cremin’s 7lb claim too then she looks to have a decent e/w chance here.

4.10 – Lingfield – Some big yards on show here, most notably Saeed Bin Suroor, Richard anon, Luca Cumani and Mike De Kock, but Roger Varian’s team also fit into that bracket – they run MUWALAAH (Bet at 6/4 with Betfair) . Paul Hanagan rides for his retained owner and this horse heads here as the most experienced with three past runs. The yard can do little wrong at present and a recent second at Doncaster was another solid effort that gives her a great chance of breaking her duck here.

Uttoxeter Tips –

4.50 – Uttoxeter – REGAL PARK (Bet at 7/4 with William Hill) was impressive when winning last time out here over hurdles and gets in here off the same mark over fences. He’s got experience over the bigger obstacles so that’s not an issue, while the step up in trip, despite being a slight doubt, could easily bring about further improvement.

Worcester Tips –

6.55 – Worcester – Trainer John Ferguson can do little wrong at the moment with a 48% win record from his recent runners. He’s also got a decent 39% strike-rate here at Worcester so his CAYMAN ISLANDS (Bet at 9/1 with 888Sport) is worth sticking with. Yes, the horse has disappointed so far but continues to drop down the ratings and on some of his old form would take a lot of beating. Connections take off a further 7lbs with the jockey’s claim and his recent run – his first since March – should have brought him on.

Sandown –

8.50 –Sandown – The top-weight, Mythical Moment, is respected, but we like SEA OF HEAVEN (Bet at 3/1 with William Hill) here. The Mark Prescott-trained horse was a close second last time out on the AW at Lingfield. He was well-backed that day and with that being just his fourth career run there should be more to come. Oh, and the yard boast an impressive 33% record with their runners here.
