Weekend's Best Horse Racing Tips and Free Bets – With inspections planned at every National Hunt meeting this Saturday we are rather in the lap of the Gods regarding the racing action (or potential lack of it) this weekend, so I have decided to give you two tips from two meetings to give us a better chance of at least one of them getting a run!
An important fact to bear in mind is that not only is this rainy spell causing havoc the tracks but also with stable gallops. With various all-weather gallops washed away we are second guessing fitness as much as anything.
Starting on the all-weather, BLUE WAVE (9/4 Stan James) has risen in the weights following wins here at Lingfield (rated 79) and then Southwell (85), and will find life a lot tougher with a further ten pounds on his back today. The handicapper now rates the four year old son of Raven’s Pass at an all time high of 95. That said, his two wins have been mightily impressive to the eye and scream out “tons in hand” suggesting he could add one more win to his tally before the handicapper finally brings his winning run to an end.
Over the jumps (after all, this is allegedly the National Hunt season and we are already counting down to Cheltenham), and how about TATENEN (5/2 BetVictor) in the 3.00pm at Sandown for trainer and ex jockey Richard Rowe? He is stepping up in class after running away with a Class 3 event at Newbury over further (so stamina is not an issue), but I am anything but worried by the 63 days off the track as he seems to go best when fresh. The clever move in to Veterans company at the age of ten makes him one of the younger contenders, and eliminates a lot of the opposition he would have been wary of in any “normal” handicap. He looks like a good betting prospect.
