It’s off to the Hawthornes for the final game of the opening Premier League weekend. Man City will look to capitalise of dropped points by Chelsea and Arsenal by getting off to a flying start against a hard to beat Baggies managed by Tony Pulis.
The future Champions have kicked off their Premier League Campaign on the Monday night in each of the past 5 seasons. The Citizens will hoping that record stands this season as Manuel Pellegrini and his side look to begin an impressive title winning season.
Standing in their way of an opening 3 points is Tony Pulis and his West Brom side. The Baggies have become clean sheet specialists of sorts since the Welshman took over. 10 shutouts in 18 games is the record and that includes games against Liverpool, Man United and Chelsea.
They will be hard to get past here and it might take patience from Man City to make the breakthrough. It could be a decent bet for the first half to end goalless
I think the stubborn resistance of the home side will eventually be broken. They have a decent defence, but with the movement of Silva and Aguero and the injection of pace that Raheem Sterling gives them, they surely will be breached at some point. West Brom should have a good season and will keep many teams at bay, but I can’t see them keeping a clean sheet here.
To make up for the short price in the previous tip (above) I am going to plump for a correct score. I believe Man City have enough quality to win the match and they won’t slip up like many of their rivals. But it will hard work and probably take a huge amount of huffing and puffing.
