World Cup 2014 Best Bets – Wednesday 18th June.

Wednesday could be a massive day in the World Cup 2014 and our football editor @AlexPeace93 returns with his best World Cup 2014 betting tips.

Australia v Netherlands 5PM GMT

It seems that quite frankly no-one saw Holland shock 5-1 demolition of Spain coming last week and they are now big favorites to win this group. The Dutch were relentless going forward against a cultured and experienced Spain defense. Van Persie and Robben were especially impressive going forward and the defence also looked far better than their names suggest.

Australia can perhaps take a few positives from their opening game. After falling behind 2-0 in what was a slow start, they came back to 2-1 before conceding a fatal third. They lacked experience but were far better than anyone expected, Holland will provide an even tougher test.

Van Gaal’s men should win this one comfortably and improve their already huge goal difference, potentially guaranteeing a spot in the next round in the process. Australia looked OK going forward v Chile so don’t rule them out from scoring. Holland to win and over 3.5 goals is a nice looking 7/5 with Bet365 and is my first bet here.

Spain v Chile 8pm GMT

Staying with Group B and a massive match between Spain and Chile. The Spanish know defeat means they are off home if Holland win. Spain collapsed in the second half against Holland and that defeat will be resting heavy on them. They will be determined to bounce back and win this one.

Chile perhaps could have played better against a weak Australia side and there is no way Spain will make this easy for Chile, pride and their world Cup is on the line now.

I do fancy Spain to win this one and get their World Cup back on track, these two met in the final group game of the 2010 World Cup where Spain came out on top 2-1 winners.

Chile will provide a tough test and considering the last 3 games between these two have seen a draw and Spain win by a single goal twice, it really could be tight. Ladbrokes are offering a stunning 3/1 on Spain to win by a single goal, a price I will be snapping up.

Cameroon v Croatia 11PM GMT

We finish with a big game from group A where two sides will be looking for a win to keep them in with a realistic shout of qualifying.

Cameroon were very poor in their opener v Mexico and deservedly succumbed to a 1-0 defeat. Croatia on the other hand have every reason to feel hard done by as they lost 3-1 to Brazil and suspect refereeing decisions.

The return of Mario Mandzukic will be a massive lift for Croatia and the Bayern Munich man will be hoping to make a goalscoring return to the side. I fancy Croatia to pick up all 3 points here and if Mandzukic does start, William Hill’s headline offer of 2/1 on him to score and win is too good to ignore.

Cameroon v Croatia Betting Tip

Mario Mandzukic to Score and Win – Bet Here at 2/1 with William Hill.
