After 2 days off from the World Cup the Quarter-Finals get underway on Friday and we have Free World Cup 2014 betting tips.

France v Germany 5pm GMT

The first match is an all European affair as two sides who had a tough time in the Quarter-Finals meet. France played Nigeria in their last 16 tie and were frustrated for long periods before eventually running out 2-0 winners with two late goals. The introduction of Griezmann in place of Giroud was key and the Real Sociedad winger will be hoping to start once again here.

Germany needed extra time to overcome Algeria 2-1 in their round of 16 match and were far from their sparkling best in the process. France have even more quality than Algeria so this will by no means be easy for Germany. There are further issues for the Germans with reports saying 7 of their players have come down with flu like symptoms, hardly ideal preparation for a World Cup Quarter-Final.

With 5/8 last 16 matches going to extra-time, these games have become very unpredictable. Neither side wants to give anything away and the adventurous attacking play of the group stages appears to have died down. This game could very easily go to Extra-Time with two top teams going head to head. France have kept 3 clean sheets in their 4 World Cup matches to date, while Germany have also kept 3 clean sheets in 4 within 90 minutes. This will very likely be 1-0 either way or 0-0, under 1.5 goals is 9/5 with Ladbrokes and looks the right bet to place here.

Get 4/1 on Brazil to Beat Colombia with Betfred

Brazil v Colombia 9pm GMT

Second up is Brazil v Colombia, so an all South-American clash. Brazil were one of the pre-tournament favorites and Colombia have maybe been the most impressive side at the World Cup.

Brazil needed penalties to get past Chile in the last 16 and after a bright start struggled in the second half. Chile are a good side and impressed so it was never going to be easy for Brazil but Colombia will be another step up for the Brazilians.

Colombia romped through their group with 3 wins in 3 and then impressed again against Uruguay in the last 16. They came away 2-0 winners with James Rodriguez particularly impressing. Colombia look so confident going forward and will give Brazil a few scares.

The knockout games so far have been really tight affairs but watching both of these sides they don’t have loads of pace in defence and good attacks with the likes of Nemar and Rodriguez playing for either side. Brazil have kept just one clean sheet in the tournament to date so both teams to score looks a good bet at 21/20 with William Hill.
