World Cup 2014 Betting Tips: Group F

Group F contains one of the favorites for the tournament and we have free World Cup 2014 betting tips.

Argentina must have been rubbing their hands with glee when they were drawn alongside Bosnia, Nigeria and Iran and find themselves as massive favorites to qualify. Possessing the likes of Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero (who we fancy to grab the Golden Boot) and Angel Di Maria means their attacking talent should see them waltz through the group and perhaps all the way to the final, while whoever joins them will have a struggle to get past the last sixteen.

This is just Iran’s 4th World Cup, Nigeria’s 5th and Bosnia’s 1st. None of these sides are expected to offer little resistance to Argentina who are 2/7 to win the group. There is little value here so the best thing to do is try and workout who will be joining them in the last sixteen.

Bosnia impressed everyone getting to the World Cup and finishing above Greece on goal difference in qualifying and are the only side making a World Cup debut this time around. Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko is the headline name in their squad while Stoke’s Asmir Begovic usually starts between the posts. There are few household names in the rest of the squad and it will be interesting to see if that lack of experience works against them.

Nigeria will fancy their chances also having reached the last sixteen in 1994 and 1998 but have now finished bottom in their last two World Cup groups. Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel usually shines for his national side and there are some quality players in the squad with Victor Moses, Vincent Enyeama, and Ahmed Musa some of the players to look out for. They will most likely take Newcastle United’s Shola Ameobi, so make of that what you please. They won the 2013 African Cup of Nations so may be a good shout here.

Finally, Iran. The Middle Eastern side have won just one game in their World Cup history and well, should be finishing bottom here. Many of the players still play in their native Iran, with Fulham’s Ashkan Dejagh a rare exception. It may be a real struggle for them here against three good sides.

Looking through the squads and recent form, I really like the look of Nigeria to qualify. They perhaps don’t have the same quality as lets say Ivory Coast on their continent but the other two sides may not be as strong. Nigeria drew 2-2 with Italy not long ago to show their quality and look a great bet to qualify at World Cup 2014 betting odds of 7/5 with Ladbrokes.
